There was a time, not long ago, that five runs in a game meant a Dodger win. Period.
Nowadays, that is not the case; and it's not going to be. We, as Dodger fans, must get used to it.
On back-to-back nights, the Dodgers have lost games in which they've scored five runs. Pitching has been the problem, both starting and the bullpen.
Minute Maid Park is definitely hitter friendly, but the Astros were last in the National League in runs scored heading into this series. Suddenly, they've scored 14 runs in two games and have taken the first two games off a team that figures to be one of the best in the NL.
The Dodgers seem to struggle in Houston, going 20-29 against the Astros on the road since 1996.
It's time to for the Dodgers ace, Chad Billingsley, to step up and be the stopper that the team needs him to be. They go to Colorado next, and they will befacing a division foe seeking revenge. It is not a place to be heading on a three-game skid.
Manny Ramirez is certainly doing his part. The guy is on fire. It's hard to complain about anyone in the lineup. Rafael Furcal, Russell Martin and James Loney aren't going great, but they are still hitting above .250.
Casey Blake's average is not high, but four homers out of the No. 8 spot is fantastic. Andre Ethier, Orlando Hudson and Matt Kemp are smoking as well.

There is absolutlely nothing, zero, zip, nada wrong our offense! Everybody is contributing on the offensive side, and really the starting pitching hasnt been that bad. But we got to get the ball to Johhny Cakes in the ninth with a LEAD, and not blow it! I still like Belesario, but in the sixth or seventh, he doesnt know what it takes to hold down the fort in the eight. The last two years we have had Broxton blowing away fools in the eigth making Sammy's job easy...SOMEONE STEP UP or look outside the organization to shore up the pen.
belisario should not bepitching the eighth. that game should have been won.the astros are bad.
