Let's take a look at the Dodgers top prospects and how they are doing early on.

Andrew Lambo, Double-A Chattanooga: Lambo has come out like gangbusters. He's batting .364 with a couple of bombs and six runs driven in. The 20-year old seems to be on the fast track to the Big Leagues.

Ethan Martin, Single-A Great Lakes: Martin has been lights out in his first two outings, lasting five innings each time. He's only given up one run, good for an ERA of 0.90. He has struck out 12 in his 10 innings.

Josh Lindblom, Double-A Chattanooga: Lindblom is starting for the Lookouts, and he's had one good outing and one okay outing. In both he lasted five innings, allowing one run against Birmingham, but three against Montgomery. He struck out six both times. He'll probably be a reliever when he gets called up, at least at first.

Scott Elbert, Double-A Chattanooga (recently called up): You can see the Dodgers are starting their highly touted pitching in the more pitcher friendly Southern League instead of at Triple-A in the hitter friendly Pacific Coast League. In this case, the 23-year old was recently called up, but made two starts with the Lookouts and lasted a total of eight innings, gave up three runs and struck out nine. He earned his first career win against Colorado on Sunday, giving up a pair of solo home runs in 2 2/3 innings.

Chris Withrow, Single-A Advanced Inland Empire: Withrow was really good his first time out, tossing five hitless innings with six strikeouts, but in his second outing against Rancho Cucamonga he gave up five runs in four innings.

Josh Bell, Double-A Chattanooga: Bell is playing second base this year. He's off to a solid start with a .303 average and a home run.

Austin Gallagher, Single-A Great Lakes: Gallagher is actually moving backwards. He was at Inland Empire last year, and is back in Great Lakes. He's batting just .200 with a home run as of right now.

Chin-Lung Hu, Triple-A Albuquerque: Hu is off to a great start as he looks to get back with the big club. He's batting .317 so far.

Xavier Paul, Triple-A Albuquerque: Paul is just smoking. He's batting .476 with seven extra base hits and six stolen bases. Somebody call this man up!!

Tony Abreu, Triple-A Albuquerque: He hasn't played yet. I'm not sure what's wrong with him this time.

I was excited to see Abreu out this spring and remembered why I was so high on him three years ago, but this last injury makes me question his work ethic and heart.

Pierre's only way to get traded is to get on base when he can and run like hell, he has value just no one is looking for it, some people have to get hurt in the league, or god forbid one of our own starting outfielders.

Isnt Bell a little big for second base?

It seems like Bell is a little big to be a second baseman. Maybe they needed to find a new position so he and Gallagher wouldn't be fighting for at-bats.

abreu is a bum. there is definitely something wrong with him, as far as heart and desire goes. no body ever knows what is wrong with him. a suitor for pierre has to come around soon. hopefully...

How much would money would the Dodgers have to pick up to trade Pierre? 3 years left roughly 27 million left at 9 mil a season...lets say the Dodgers pick up half 13.5 mil, would Pierre have better value at 4.5 million a season? Would 4.5 mil of payroll flexibility help them, or just keep him as the fourth outfielder?

Ya, Pierre is owed $28.5 million over the next three years, including this season. So I think it would make sense to try and trade him. I say you eat $15 million. The 4.5 million in payroll flexibility would definitely help, especially when you consider Paul can do just as good a job for 400 K for the next three seasons.

Reports coming out that the Dodgers are interested in Mark Mulder...I was upset when the A's traded away Hudson and Mulder and Depodesta (fresh from the A's) couldnt land either. Mulder was nails before his injury (to the shoulder I think Tommy John), but how many reclamation projects can we have on this team? Wolf in 07 was coming off Tommy John, and he wasnt ready that year, so why get involved with Mulder now? Let the Nationals get him and see if he is healthy and then sign him next year to replace Wolf, but dont take away innings from McD or Stults while they are doing well!

if they are gonna add a pitcher, it should be a stud via trade. not mulder or someone else like that.
