I've always had a soft spot for Cloyd, the kid knows how to pitch . I know that can be ovetrsated at times, but he's a guy who has improved as he's gone up the ladder. And not only that but he's never walked batters his minor league career bb/9 is 1.9, and it was 1.4 last year. So far 0 walks this year.Obviously I don't think he's the next Halladay, but guys who don't walk batters generally do pretty well. If he can keep his K/9 above 6 he'll have a decent big league career. Here's a couple examples:Doug Fister 88.7 mph fb 6.07 K/9 1.54 BB/9 3.02 FIP 2.83 ERABrandon McCarthy 90.6 mph fb 6.49 K/9 1.32 BB/9 2.86 FIP 3.32 ERAIan Kennedy 89.5 mph fb 8.03 K/9 2.23 BB/9 3.22 FIP 2.88 ERABasically as long as you don't walk batters, and keep your strike outs over 5 per/9 you can get by with so so stuff, and even succeed.

I like the San Francisco Giants too! They have a veteran balllcub that is very loyal to each other. Bonds, despite contraversy, is exciting. Basketball and Baseball are tied for favorite sport.Baseball- SF Giants no park like AT&T in which you can hit a home run into the BayBasketball LA Clippers beautiful run in the playoffs Brand, Maggette, and Cassell are goodFootball- none..used to be 49ers..but management destroyed the team.References :

I'm NOT a fan of the Los Angeles incarnation of my bloveed Bums, so I have to admit to a slanted perspective on this book. I really think that the Brooklyn Base Ball Club deserves its own separate encyclopedic volume from the Los Angeles National League Franchise, if only because Brooklyn baseball has an unbroken history that stretches from the 1840s to 1957. Baseball was amazingly well woven into the fabric of Brooklyn, and the last two decades of that long life were years of wonder. Compared to their Brooklyn pedigree, the Los Angeles team is still comparatively wet behind the ears. Having admitted my prejudice, I'm afraid that any other criticisms will sound gratuitous. Unfortunately, this book is sloppily edited and incomplete, the picture quality is poor, and my overall impression of this book is one of disappointment. I got this as a gift, and I enjoyed the Brooklyn material for what it was, and appreciated the LA material as part of the overall history, but I think the authors could have done a whole lot better both editorially and in presentation.
